The Stacked Supper Menu
Our menu unfolds like a stack of printed sheets, each layer revealing a new course. From starters to desserts, every dish is crafted to be shared and savoured in the warm atmosphere of our Brisbane venue.
Layered printed sheets set the rhythm for the evening. The kitchen works with local produce, seasonal flavour, and a generous hand, so each course feels like a natural progression from the last. Whether you are settling in for a long supper or pausing between hands in the Poker Room, the menu is designed to be explored at your own pace.
Light Beginnings
Our starters are designed to awaken the palate. Think charred sourdough with whipped ricotta, crispy calamari with lemon aioli, and heirloom tomato salad with basil oil.
- Charred Sourdough — thick-cut bread, whipped ricotta, and a slow drizzle of honey.
- Crispy Calamari — lightly dusted, fried until golden, served with lemon aioli and fresh herbs.
- Heirloom Tomato Salad — mixed tomatoes, basil oil, aged balsamic, and sea salt.
- Roasted Beetroot — warm beetroot, goat's curd, candied walnuts, and orange dressing.
Starters are portioned for sharing, so the table can taste widely before the main event. The kitchen is happy to pace courses around your evening, whether you are dining before a game or taking a break from the Card Lounge.
Substantial Plates
From slow-cooked lamb shoulder with rosemary jus to pan-seared barramundi with native greens, our mains are built for depth and comfort. Vegetarian options include a roasted pumpkin and sage risotto.
- Slow-Cooked Lamb Shoulder — rosemary jus, roasted root vegetables, and soft polenta.
- Pan-Seared Barramundi — native greens, lemon butter, and crisp capers.
- Roasted Pumpkin Risotto — sage, aged parmesan, and toasted pepitas.
- Grilled Chicken Supreme — charred corn, smoked paprika, and herb salsa.
Mains are plated as complete dishes, but the kitchen is glad to provide extra share plates. The aubergine accents on this layer echo the deep, comfortable tones of the dining room, where long conversations and friendly games tend to overlap.
For the Table
Our sharing plates are made for passing around. Choose from charcuterie boards with local cured meats, wood-fired flatbreads, and a selection of dips with grilled vegetables.
- Charcuterie Board — local cured meats, pickled vegetables, and seeded crackers.
- Wood-Fired Flatbread — rosemary, sea salt, and whipped garlic butter.
- Dip Selection — hummus, beetroot and walnut, and whipped feta with grilled vegetables.
- Salt and Pepper Squid — crisp squid, chilli, and lime for easy sharing.
Sharing plates are the social heart of the menu. They suit the rhythm of a poker evening perfectly: a few plates in the centre of the table, hands dealt in between, and no one needing to leave the conversation for a formal course.
Sweet Endings
Finish with our signature sticky date pudding with butterscotch sauce, a dark chocolate tart with raspberry coulis, or a selection of Australian cheeses with quince paste.
- Sticky Date Pudding — warm date sponge, butterscotch sauce, and vanilla ice cream.
- Dark Chocolate Tart — raspberry coulis, cocoa crumb, and crème fraîche.
- Australian Cheese Selection — three local cheeses, quince paste, and lavosh.
- Lemon Myrtle Panna Cotta — macerated berries and shortbread crumb.
Desserts are the final printed layer, but they are not an afterthought. The kitchen keeps the sweetness balanced, so the evening can continue comfortably in the Card Lounge or at the poker table without feeling heavy.
Food and Cards
At Stack & Supper House, the supper table and the poker table share the same spirit of gathering. Enjoy a meal before settling into a friendly game in our Poker Room, or share plates while watching a hand unfold in the Card Lounge.
The dining room is designed to flow naturally into the poker spaces. You might begin with a sharing board and a glass of wine, then move to a table for a few friendly hands. There is no pressure to choose between food and cards; the evening can move between both as easily as turning a page.
